Overview
GeoSpoofer is a Brave/Chrome extension that changes browser Geolocation API results on pages you visit, based on coordinates you choose.
Extension permissions
storage: used to save extension settings in your browser.<all_urls>host access: used only so the extension can inject the geolocation override on pages where browser geolocation might be requested.
What the extension stores locally
The extension stores configuration in chrome.storage.local, including:
- enabled/disabled state
- latitude and longitude
- accuracy value
- selected preset
- recent named custom places
What the extension does not do
- No account creation or login is required.
- No payment information is collected by the extension.
- No analytics or ad tracking is currently used by the extension.
- No extension backend is required for core functionality.
- No browsing history, page content, form entries, cookies, or IP address are collected by the extension.
- It does not change IP-based geolocation or VPN state.
Limited use
The use of information received from Chrome extension APIs is limited to providing GeoSpoofer's single purpose: saving your chosen settings locally and applying the Geolocation API override in your browser. GeoSpoofer does not sell this data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to third parties.
Website and support form data
The support website is separate from extension local storage. If you submit the support form, the site processes the data you enter (name, email, topic, message) and may store technical request metadata such as timestamp, IP address, host, and user agent for support handling and abuse prevention.
Data sharing
No personal data is sold. Data is not shared for advertising or data brokerage.
Retention and deletion
- Extension local settings can be removed by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage.
- Support submissions are retained on the support server until deleted as part of support operations.
